Mindfulness-Based Inner RePatterning™ (MBIR™) was created by Tania A. Prince and has evolved over more than a decade of clinical practice, teaching, and practitioner training.
The foundational principles of Inner RePatterning were first introduced publicly by Tania at a Masterclass Conference in 2010. In the same year, her book Getting Started with Inner RePatterning was published, documenting the early frameworks and practitioner-focused applications of this work.
Over the following years, Inner RePatterning continued to develop through:
- live trainings and masterclasses
- written manuals and teaching materials
- extensive clinical application and supervision
As the work evolved, it became increasingly defined by its emphasis on:
- non-analytical change processes
- nervous system regulation and embodied safety
- mindful witnessing rather than problem exploration
These refinements eventually led to the formalisation of the method as Mindfulness-Based Inner RePatterning™ (MBIR™) — a distinct, named framework with specific principles, sequencing, and scope of use.
Today, MBIR™ is taught as a proprietary method and forms the foundation of dedicated practitioner training programmes.
