Depersonalisation and Derealisation

I just thought I would share this story. I must admit it brought a smile to my face reading it. What a beautiful sense of humor

Since her early 20′s J has suffered from depersonalization and derealisation. This condition is commonly referred to as the “living death” as some who experience this problem are here, but not here, if you get what I mean. They do not experience the full sensory experience of life.

For J on a good day it was as if she was observing herself, rather than experiencing life from inside her body. On a bad day it would be as if she was observing herself, but even more removed from the experience. It was as if things were not real!

Now I definitely think there is more that is needed to be done here, but it certainly fills me with hope.
